Born Azage Asfaw, “Ace” bounced around quite a bit as a child. From Montreal to Toronto and eventually the Westside of Atlanta, he experienced the pain and the reality of street culture early. Without having any parents in his life he moved in with his aunt and uncle and grew up in the SWATS (South West Atlanta) alike colleagues Goodie Mob, Outkast, T.I and Killer Mike. Azage was once a member of a four member group at Mays High School. One talent show in particular caught the eyes of the R&B super group 112. After a production deal fell through he decided to put his fate in his own hands and start his own label, The High Society. Azage is the first act slated to drop amongst the label. Azage’s appearance on the Source’s Unsigned Hype Tour gave him quick buzz in the streets of Atlanta and made him relevant on the local mixtape circuit. Heralded as the next best thing in Hip Hop, Azage has started to bang on the doors of the industry. He recently teamed up with Dj Nice to drop the critically acclaimed “A Different World” mixtape. Nice has also worked with Joe Budden, Juelz Santana and Joell Ortiz. Azage’s laid back and raw narratives depict the everyday street tales of his life and his peers. His mini movies allow you to witness why he is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with. His flow contains charm, witty punchlines, pain and struggle that his fans simply relate to. There is a reason why his reputation holds weight. His ambition and perseverance to succeed through adversity exemplifies his future longevity and why he is called “the Ace” of this rap game.
Azage is a new edition to the site, and we look forward to him gracing the site on a weekly basis (for the next two weeks!
