The-DreamVP

I don’t know this was his “dream” but Mr. Nash has now landed himself a high ranking “Executive Vice President” on Island Def Jam recordings.  Now if you had just gotten this job, how would you tell the whole world?  Well The-Dream decided that it would be best to drop the bomb-shell news through a Twitter post…   Here are what the messages said:

“I wanna Thank everyone at Island Records/DefJam for their faith in me and making me Executive Vice President of Island Records. Thank you to my team..my manager Mark Stewart & my attorney Aaron Rosenberg for getting this 1st step of a goal accomplished. Thanks to Judy. Thank you to my partner Tricky Stewart and the RadioKilla & RedZone Staff. LA Reid, Karen Kwak, Steve Bartels, Joe Barino. Steve Gotlieb and Thank you, Universal Chairman, Doug Morris. I look forward to the challenge of rebuilding music for not only Island Records, But for Universal Records as a whole. Today I’m humbled and blessed. Terius “The-Dream” – The-Dream’s Twitter

The-Dream even gave a call out to his fiance Christina Milian:

“Oh yeah thank you Christina for your wonderful belief in me i love you! also i want to thank the entire Nash family and Milian family for the Super Support you Give! this doesnt mean i have extra money it means i have extra bills LOL.” – The-Dream’s Twitter

Hopefully this will be a good move for Island Def Jam, and let’s hope that his expertise in music will help the industry as a whole!  Also, be on the lookout for more news on his upcoming album, Love King, due out later this year (supposedly it is a collaboration album with Kanye West, as previously reported on TGLR).

It is amazing to see Twitter has been used from PR standpoint. It is amazing all the things that get announced through Twitter these days.

That’s what’s up… Twitter has become a major PR resource for many up and coming musicians and many big-time musicians. At the same time, it has been the cause of some problems and arguments and beef have been created via Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, etc. But yea, i totally agree with you!
