Jake Balbes - Audio Supply
Don’t be fooled by the album artwork above. I mean sure, it doesn’t look like the most high class piece of artwork, but that doesn’t mean that Audio Supply does not give fans a full scale look at what Jake Balbes is all about. I had heard this tape once or twice before, and just never gave it too much thought until about the third time I gave it a listen through. As I sit here and listen through the track listing of the mixtape, I really can sense that authentic feel that Jake Balbes really presents on his mixtape. Many musicians now a day don’t make their own beats and write their own lyrics, and that’s what I find so intriguing about Mr. Balbes’ music. He has that sort of Mike Posner feel to his music, the beats are all original, and the lyrics are the same way, catchy and naturally flowing. The crazy thing about Jake is that he is still so young, and his creativity level is already long a head of his time. I can’t wait to see what this kid can do in the future, but for now, we can all just appreciate the good music and enjoy some good stuff from Jake Balbes! Some stand out tracks on the mixtape to be on the lookout for is, “Shoot for the Sky,” “Believen” and “It’d Be Tight”.
