I’m sensing something, something new. Yeah theres these six new songs by Taylor Swift… I feel like she’s moving out of her teen years and starting to get in touch with her music more and more, and that we’ve yet to see Taylors full potential. On Monday, Taylor Swift dropped Fearless Platinum Edition to the public; she was so excited she couldn’t wait till Tuesday when the album was announced to come out. I’m glad she didn’t wait any longer to lay these six new songs on us. Com’ere (come-here), take a look see.
“Untouchable“
Here Taylor took an angry ol’ metal rock song and turned it into this beautiful melody that sounds truly like an original Taylor Swift song. The soft lyrics and soft voice combine for this song to be so appealing to my ears. I think it’s a very good down to earth song of some good lovin’.
“Come in with the rain”
This song tells a story of lost passion, of a boy who apparently just doesn’t get Taylor anymore, which is a damn shame for him; I’d love to get her. Taylor’s guitar gets the work done on this song, also the back vocals in the chorus are just short of mesmerizing. Taylor just wants some love, so get the song and give it to her.
“Superstar“
It’s tough to pinpoint this songs whereabouts, “And all the girls in the front row scream your name”, makes you think it’s about her relationship last year with Joe jonas of the Jonas Brothers (bleh); the bastard broke up with her through a text message…. A TEXT MESSAGE! C’mon now. Anywho, I can’t get carried away now. Others believe that the message of the song is a crush that she’ll “never tell about”. My beliefs are that as a younger woman she had a star crush, maybe Tim McGraw cause we all know, “When you think Tim McGraw, she hopes you think her favorite song”. Aside from all that I think it’s a damn brilliant song, the lyrics are real interesting, and draw you in well. Plus Taylor sings like an angel.
“The Other Side of the Door”
First of all… I mean gah damn this is the kinda stuff that us men can’t STAND about women. This here song is about her telling her boyfriend “This Time I’ve had enough” and “I cant even look at you, I don’t need you”. But really it’s all girl code for: “All I really want is you to stand outside my window throwing pebbles screaming, “I’m in love with you”. Ridiculous. But nonetheless, this is a real catchy, really touching song. Classic T-Swift.
“Forever & Always (Piano Version)”
A piano version of one of the best songs on Fearless, I love the piano accompanied with her voice. When the hook enters, it’s as if you fall into a trance, your heart floats away as she hits her notes with consistency and utter perfection. Get some Taylor.
“Jump Then Fall”
Jump Then Fall is the song that topped the iTunes charts the morning after Fearless Platinum Edition came out, I can definitely see why. Miss Taylor delivers that kinda country twang that we haven’t seen all that much in her previous songs, she’s maturing into the kinda singer she wants to be and honestly I can hear a bit of the famed Miranda Lambert in her. This is a song many can understand and could have defined for themselves at some point in there life, you know, close to the beginning of a long relationship when you just really like everything about that person. And the fact is that you’re really excited about the relationship you’re in, you can tell Taylor’s excitement in this one. It really makes you wonder if there is that special new someone in her life…. Lucky guy. Amazing song, Tay-tay kills it.
Now of course you can find these tracks on iTunes or at your local CD store or wherever else you happen to get your music. I suggest it, cause you know what, in the name of Country Mane, this six song compilation receives an A. For all you closeted Tfiws Rolyat (go on reverse the letters) fans, don’t be afraid, be Fearless… Platinum.
