I can’t keep up with who I think is going to blow up next, so I am just going to start a whole new section entitled “The Future Of Hip-Hop”. This way, you can all look at the past ones, and not have to worry about which “Incoming Class” of freshman they are part of. The first group I am going to cover is Rock City. They have recently been blowing up, and I don’t see their success stopping anytime soon! They haven’t formally put out an album yet, but if you visit any of the popular music sites out there, you are bound to see some loose tracks of theirs floating around. That is how I first heard about them. I recently copped the illroots presented mixtape that Rock City put out, entitled: IllRoots.com x Rock City Present PTFAO (Stop Leaking Our Sh@t). I have been rocking this tape for the past two or three weeks non-stop, and when that happens, I tend to do either a post on it and I start ranting and raving that the artist will be making a huge impact in the industry in the very near future. So that is exactly what this will be!
What makes Rock City the next big thing? It really isn’t such a hard question to answer if you think about it. The dynamic duo have put together a string of mixtapes along with a slew of single tracks and have been taking over the internet music game as we know it. They started off small, I didn’t really know too much about these guys until I saw there version of “Best I Ever Had” and after that, I had decided that these two were my new favorite up and comers. Rock City is insane, the mix of sounds and beats are literally music to my ears, and they are getting serious about putting out there music as time goes on. The mixtapes are unreal, and if you don’t have Put The F’n Album Out… Sneak Peak yet, then you should download that STAT! Also, be sure to check out IllRoots.com x Rock City Present PTFAO (Stop Leaking Our Sh@t), which was a step up from their other releases. This is just the beginning of what will be an amazing ride for Rock City.
