Kanye West Announces GOOD Fridays (Twitter)

by ICECrush on August 23, 2010

“It’s about the fans. No more holding back. That’s why I dropped see me now… It wasn’t about me it was about the Summer the BBQs etc…”

Thanks to Matt over at WeGotThisCovered for pointing this out to me. The game really is changing, and as Kanye put it, “It’s all about the fans”. I’m really liking this switch from pirate groups to the artists leaking joints because it genuinely hypes up album/mixtape drops. Yes, these singles are still leaked over the blogosphere, and you have to know what you’re doing to find them, but overall it introduces music to the masses on a friendlier basis.

I’m a bit confused what he’s talking about when he says some of the songs could be some new Jay songs, but that makes me even more excited. And now we wait until Friday…

I like the idea of them dropping a new song every week. Personally though, I just see it as a PR stunt as a way to try to rebuild his image after the awards show fiasco.
