As we were promised, Rick Ross’s new single, “Hold Me Back”, dropped at 3:05 PM EST. Minus the jagged lines introduced by the low image quality of the single cover, I don’t mind this artwork way more than the artworks for anything else released for Ross’s upcoming album, God Forgives, I Don’t. Well the artwork for “I Love My B*tches” isn’t terrible. There’s nothing to hate. it’s a picture of Ross in front of a gradient background. You know what is terrible though, the !@#$ing album art. What happened to the days when album art was important, iconic. I’m not expecting him to craft something as memorable as Illmatic, but come on! Nowadays, everything looks like heavily photoshopped mixtape art. The only real part of the deluxe album art for God Forgives, I Don’t consists of Rick Ross’s head wearing some ugly shades. The rest looks like stock image pasted over stock image. I don’t mind Ricky’s rapping, but he has to try harder if he wants a classic. /rant.
